Bronzegate is led by one of the most experienced management teams in the finance executive search field, including two former CFOs.

Adam Akbar Bronzegate Founder Managing Director

Adam Akbar

Adam is the Founder and Managing Partner of Bronzegate. He has nearly 20 years’ industry experience and has specialised in finance executive search since 1999. Before founding Bronzegate, Adam was a Board Managing Director at Pure Search—an international search firm—where he developed a new approach to finance search: a model which is used successfully at Bronzegate today.


An economics graduate, Adam began his career as a finance headhunter with global search firm, TMP Worldwide, in Sydney and London, before joining Alexander Mann’s finance search practice. Adam specialises in Board CFO appointments and developing finance leadership teams. He also heads Bronzegate’s Chairperson Network.

Peter Morters

Peter is a Partner of Bronzegate and has over 15 years’ executive search experience. Prior to joining Bronzegate, Peter established Palmares Search which provided boutique search and market intelligence services to private market, hedge fund and investment bank clients.


A Masters graduate and alumni of Manchester University, Peter began his career with The Omerta Group – a leading global banking, markets and asset management boutique executive search firm. Peter’s tenure with Omerta saw successive appointments, latterly serving as Regional Head of The Americas based in New York. Peter works across the corporate, private equity and private company sectors to appoint CFOs and senior finance leaders.

Tom Birch Bronzegate Board Director

Tom Birch

Tom is a Partner of Bronzegate and has spent his entire career to date in the field of finance executive appointments. He has gained broad experience and expertise from managing leadership hires across a wide range of sectors and clients, from high-growth SMEs, to large, listed corporates. He specialises in the placement of private equity and venture capital portfolio company CFOs.


Before joining Bronzegate, Tom helped to establish the London office of Axon Moore—a finance recruitment firm—where he managed London-based PE/VC–backed Finance Director hires. Prior to that, Tom worked with established finance recruiters Morgan McKinley and Goodman Masson.

Pauline Lafferty

Pauline is a member of Bronzegate’s board. Previously she was the Chief People Officer of The Weir Group PLC, a FTSE listed global engineering company. Prior to that, Pauline was an executive search consultant with Miles Partnership and Russell Reynolds Associates in the UK and Australia and held business planning and operational roles with Motorola and Digital Equipment Corporation in Scotland, Australia and Hong Kong.


She is a Non-Executive Director and Remuneration Committee Chair of SEC Ltd, Scotland’s leading concert, exhibition and conference centre and a Trustee of Playlist for Life, a charity raising awareness of the impact of personalised music on people with dementia. Pauline is also an executive coach.

Jeremy Rickman Bronzegate Board Director

Jeremy Rickman

Jeremy is a member of Bronzegate’s board, and a respected figure in the field of CFO and Corporate Officer executive search. A PWC trained and ACA qualified accountant, Jeremy joined leading executive search firm, Russell Reynolds, as their European CFO in 1998. He went on to work in various leadership roles within Russell Reynolds’ global executive search operation.


Jeremy developed and led Russell Reynolds European CFO practice. He founded the firm’s Research and Knowledge strategy department and was then appointed Global Head of the Corporate Officers Practice, where he ran a global headhunting operation, which included CFO appointments to Fortune 500 companies.

Neil Warner Bronzegate Board Director

Neil Warner

Neil is a highly experienced CFO and board executive, and a member of Bronzegate’s board. Neil was previously Group Finance Director at Chloride Plc—a FTSE250 constituent— a position he held for fourteen years until the company’s acquisition by Emerson Electric.


Prior to this, he spent six years at Exel (formerly Ocean Group and acquired by Deutsche Post in December 2005), where he held a number of senior posts in financial planning, treasury and control. He has also worked as Finance Director for Balfour Beatty (formerly BICC Group) and Alcoa. Neil trained with PricewaterhouseCoopers and he is a Non-Executive Director of Vectura, Enteq and Trifast.
